Good Fats For Good Health: The Power Of Omega-6 Fatty Acids

vegetableoil

We have all heard of Omega-3 Fatty Acids but did you know that Omega-6 Fatty Acids are just as important to good health?  It was once believed that the major source of Omega-6 Fatty Acids, vegetable oil, was actually a leading cause of inflammation that can lead to a series of health problems.  But recent research has proven this theory wrong.

Vegetable oil is very high in Omega-6 Fatty Acids which have been proven to decrease your risks of heart disease.  Studies done by the American Heart Association have found that individuals with heart disease or those who have had heart attacks have lower levels of Omega-6 fatty Acids than those individuals without heart disease.  To increase the amount of omega-6 Fatty Acids in your diet try including vegetable oil based salad dressings in your diet.  Just a tablespoon at a time will do as vegetable oil is a little high in calories.
