Type II Diabetes is on the rise in America, in fact over 7% of the population is living with diabetes. But alarmingly nearly 6 million people are living with diabetes in America and don’t even know it. How can you know if you should see your doctor to be tested for this silent killer?
Belly fat is the leading indicator of type II diabetes and with a simple test you can know if you are at risk. Measure your waist in inches, your waist is directly in line with your belly button (not below). Now measure your height in inches, if you waist is more than half the size of your height you are at risk for diabetes. For example if you are 60 inches tall and your waist is 32 inches then you are at risk for type II diabetes.
If you are at risk, please do see your physician to be tested properly and don’t worry if you treat your diagnosis with a healthy diet and daily exercise and medication you can manage and even reverse your diagnosis.
