If you are looking to lose weight and get into better shape then diet pop is the obvious choice over regular pop…right? One can of regular pop contains about 135 calories whereas one can of diet pop contains less than 10 calories; some even contain zero calories.
Based on these numbers, it is true that diet pop contains fewer calories. But the question remains rather difficult to answer correctly when asked if diet pop is “healthier” than regular pop. In the true sense of the word, there is really nothing “healthy” about artificially colored and flavored water. In fact, drinking all of the man-made artificial sugars in diet pop may have an even more adverse effect on your body in the long run than simply processing more real sugar. Aspartame for example, has been linked to chronic headaches, blindness, seizures, and cancer.
