No Equipment? No Problem - Start A Cardio Fitness Program At Home And Save Money And Lose Weight Fast

20090630_spotlight

Far too often we think we need fancy equipment and an expensive gym membership to get fit, lose weight and feel great.  The truth is that exercise has been around since long before your local gym set up for business.  Your home has everything you need to get fit, lose weight and get healthy, without buying a single piece of equipment.

Here are the top 5 exercises you can do at home, or in your yard or local park to get fit , lose weight and feel great without a single piece of equipment.

Stair Climb - walking or running stairs is one of the best exercises.  Most cardio workout equipment is designed to mimic stairs - think climber machines, elliptical machines and uphill climbs on a treadmill.  Why pay thousands of dollars to buy a machine that mimics the stairs you already have?  Start at a modest pace and try to go up and down a few extra times a day.  Slowly add extra stair climbs to your daily routine and before you know it your legs, but and thighs will be slim and strong.

Walking - By and far walking is the single best exercise you can do.  Walking involves all the muscles of the body and works the heart and lungs at the same time, and this is the primary reason that treadmills are the number one selling piece of exercise equipment.    Summer or winter, you don’t need a treadmill to walk, just get outside, go to the mall, or drive to your favorite park.  The best way to use walking as a weight loss and fitness building exercise is to work on your endurance.  Start out at a moderate pace and a distance you feel comfortable with and slowly add time and distance to your walk.

Jogging - A brisk jog is a great way to lose weight and get your heart and lungs pumping.  Start with a walk and slowly build to a jog.  Introduce a moderate jog into your daily walks and pump the intensity as you go.

Dancing - Not only is dancing fun, it burns calories and works your heart and lungs.  Not a fan of jogging?  No problem.  Blast your favorite tunes and just move.  Sweat up a storm to your play list in your living room, or hit your favorite club and get a workout in.

Swimming - If you are lucky enough to have pool or access to one, get off the floaty and move to stay afloat.  Swimming is the single highest calorie burning activity.  Just a few minutes in the pool will get your heart and lungs pumping and slim your waistline.

1.     Set the mood:  Nothing spells desire like a romantic candle-light dinner experience.  If you are looking to turn up the heart in your kitchen, set up a nice romantic dinner at home.  Light some candles, dim the lights and put on your favourite music to set the mood right.  This winning combination will help to help elevate their senses, interest, and intimacy levels.

2.    Show off your cooking skills:  Eating a nice meal is one thing, but seeing your significant other make their way around the kitchen can be just as much of a turn on.  Displaying your ability to chop, steam, fry, or stir is a great way to show off your potential and helps raise your stock.  Your attention to detail and  handiness in the kitchen shows your partner that you will be equally as attentive to them in bed.

3.    Cook up their favourite foods:  Perfecting your partners favourite meal not only shows your attentiveness to their needs but also you willingness to please them.  Achieving satisfaction and satiety at the table helps to inspire the same thoughts in bed.  This also easily translates into your willingness to please them in and out of the kitchen as well, a great way to increase your stock and show your partner your true potential.

4.    Share a meal:  Dining out and eating your favourite foods is great to initiate communication and bring you closer together  but sharing a meal will create a special bond between you and your partner.  Sharing a messy, tasty, spicy, juicy, and delicious meal will help stimulate the senses and bring you closer together making for an easier transition to bigger intimacy levels.

5.    Open a bottle of wine:  Sharing a nice glass of wine with your partner can help to ease tension and relax your body and mind.

Top 5 Foods To Get Perfect Skin This Summer

20090630_dailytip

That pefect glow is what we all desire, but healthy skin doesn’t start in the drug store, it starts at the market.  Your diet, that is what you eat on a daily basis, affects your skins appearance much more than the expensive cream and soap you put on your skin.  Make a few changes in your diet and your skin will glow.

  1. Green Tea - Brewed Green Tea is a powerful source of antioxidants, which are an excellent way to fight free radicals (the ‘bad guys’ responsible for the appearance of aging on your skin).  Green Tea is also a fantastic anti inflammatory, which can reduce redness and the appearance of swelling on the skin.
  2. Salmon - An excellent source of essential Omega 3 Fats salmon is a powerful anti inflammatory.  Inflammation tends to be the root cause of problem skin, a diet rich in salmon will reduce skin redness, and swelling.
  3. Cucumbers - A delicious summertime veggie, cucumber is a great source of vitamin C and caffeic acid.  Where we typically think of applying cucumber on the skin, it is also very effective when eaten.  The vitamin C found in cucumber boosts the production of collagen and elastin, which keeps the skin looking young and wrinkle free.  The caffeic acid is a UV fighter which prevents skin damage, especially in the summer months.
  4. Carrots - A terrific source of Vitamin A, carrots will effectively reduce the appearance of red bumps and scaly skin.  If you are plagued by dry skin, or red bumps, chances are that you are vitamin A deficient.
  5. Water - The key ingredient to good health, you need to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.  Dehydration can have serious affects on the appearance of the skin, and definitely wont helps with problem skin.

Yes You Can Over Train The Abs

20090629_002_500

The muscles in the stomach region are composed of the same muscles fibers found anywhere else in the body; they work the same, and even break down the same too.  They do possess slightly elevated endurance qualities because of their role in posture and core body stabilizing but they are just as susceptible to over training and training stimulus as any other major muscle group.

So, do not give your abs any “special” attention just because you see this area as one of your flaws.  Instead, spread the love and give each and every one of your muscle groups the same amount of attention.  Overtime you’ll find that your unselfishness will pay off because as your muscles become more proportioned, they function more efficiently.  Ultimately this will allow you to burn more calories at rest and during exercise so your abs will become more evident.
